# Guardian Chat V2

A clean, modern chat system for your FiveM server. It adds chat tabs, equippable chat tags, proximity roleplay bubbles above players' heads, and built-in moderation tools. It's standalone, so it doesn't need any framework.

## Features

**Chat tabs**

Players switch between ALL, OOC, VPN and Staff tabs with PageUp and PageDown. Each tab has its own color, the Staff tab only shows for players with permission, and each player's last tab is remembered.

**Chat tags**

Players type `/chattag` to open a searchable menu and equip any tag they have access to. Staff ranks like Owner, Admin and Mod, plus Member and any custom ranks you add, all work. The highest tag can be auto-selected, and it also works with GuardianTags.

**Roleplay and chat channels**

- `/me` and `/do` show in nearby chat and as a bubble above the player's head with their Steam avatar

- `/ooc`, `/vpn` (anonymous), `/twitter`, `/ad`, `/youtube` and `/twitch`

- `/pm` and `/r` for private messages

- A private staff channel

- YouTube and Twitch can be locked to permitted players

**Moderation**

- Mute and unmute players with a reason and a duration

- Mutes are saved by license and only block the channels you choose

- Staff can clear the chat

**Move Chat**

Players type `/movechat` to drag the chat window anywhere on screen, with a live preview and a reset button. Their position is saved.

**Announcements**

Set a message and an interval in minutes to remind players about your Discord, rules or other news.

## Configuration

Everything is in an open `config.lua`: server name, channels and colors, tabs, tag list, permissions, keybinds, mute settings, proximity range, message length and time format.
